Photographs primarily taken in the Vicksburg National Military Park in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Subjects include dedication ceremonies, dignitaries and visitors, monuments, forts and batteries, bridges, the Shirley house (before and after restoration), and scenic views. There are also images of Civil War veterans and park commissioners, including William T. Rigby and Stephen D. Lee. Many of the photographs were made by the prominent Vicksburg photographers J.C. Coovert, Charles Long and J. Mack Moore.
